Italy: Mild autumn results in surprising choice of plants

The recent period of mild weather in the heart of Tuscany, Italy's major growing region, has produced a unique level of plant availability. Tuscany Growers has felt this, too, with varieties such as pleached chanticleer Pyrus still holding their leaves even as the festive season approaches.

Abelia Grandiflora (left) and Camelia sasanqua multistem (right) both blooming early.

Advance blooming
Plants such as Camellia sasanqua are still flowering in advance of their normal time, with abelia continuing to blossom for longer than normal. Therefore, Tuscany Growers have extended their 'Black Friday' offers to remain available throughout December. This includes selected items for delivery during both December and January 2022.
