GEDI is to become part of the Retail Division within Floral Trade Group. The main reason is to serve the retail clients even better.

The continuity of the Westland Retail company in flowers and plants is most important, says Edwin Rothert, on behalf of management Gedi. "That is why we will join Floral Trade Group in full confidence. We were looking for a company with a shared vision, customer focus and the same mentality as our employees. FTG also supports us in the areas of ICT, HR, Marketing, Finance, BI and Quality & Sustainability. Joint sourcing, in particular, is an important spearhead in which we expect to join forces. Floriculture products are becoming increasingly scarce and FTG works together with a large network of domestic and foreign growers, so that we can continue to guarantee a complete supply year-round."

Wim van der Plas (CEO Floral Trade Group) recognizes the drive of GEDI: "This takeover provides a strengthening of our Retail Division, where the service-oriented approach and know-how of GEDI in the field of retail activities is an absolute asset to our group. After the takeover the present management of GEDI will be continued. The solid basis and ambition to keep improving, gives a powerful foundation for a sustainable continuation of GEDI."
