The Plateau State government and South African company Wellington and White have agreed to invest in agribusiness in the state. This was disclosed when governor Simon Bako Lalong spoke with the company's Managing Director, Ian White (r), and his team on Tuesday.
White noted that the state has the potential and a fertile soil where lots of crops could grow, which was why his organization has decided to partner with the state to tap the potential. He said: “The purpose of our visit is to identify the available facilities and the crops to start with, adding that they would start with tomatoes, flowers, and pepper.
Responding, Governor Lalong told the visiting team that his administration would facilitate and guarantee their investment in the state.
