Around a thousand orchids will decorate the historic Palazzo Francesco Turati until 12 June during the Masterly Dutch Pavilion, which is part of the Salone del Mobile. The 'Salone' is an international design fair, with presentations in the fair building and throughout the city of Milan. For the second year in a row, Orchid Netherlands has been selected to exhibit a rich assortment of Dutch orchids.
Dutch design pavilion
Masterly is the showcase of Dutch designers and is located in the Palazzo Francesco Turati. This palace is located in the center of Milan and is the exclusive domain for Dutch design. Not only is our country progressive in high-quality design, but it is also the European leader in ornamental plant cultivation. Curator Nicole Uniquole brings the two sectors together on the high design stage: "Both disciplines value knowledge, skill and craftsmanship. An inseparable combination."
Orchids for Milan
On the last day of the event, all orchids are given away to the inhabitants of Milan. This long-standing tradition is a token of appreciation for the city's hospitality. "The orchids bloom much longer than the week they are presented at this event. So the people of Milan can enjoy the orchids at home for weeks to come," says Claudia Broch.
Masterly takes place from 7 to 12 June at the Palazzo Francesco Turati, Via Meravigli, 7 in Milan, Italy. More information is available at; www.orchidsinfo.eu.
