Syngenta Flowers unveils Stars Collection

On the 13th of June, Syngenta Flowers announced the launch of the Syngenta Flowers’ Stars collection, a selection of the company’s genetics. The first edition of this Collection includes 19 series from its Annuals, Perennials, and Biennials assortment. Each Star comes with a  recognizable Point-of-Sale package to boost sales at the grower and retail levels.

Syngenta Flowers’ breeding activities are focused on delivering innovations, and bringing value to the growers and the rest of the chain. One example is Iberis Mermaid Lavender, a new hybrid Iberis that has just been launched commercially. This beautiful flowering plant has all the characteristics that one would expect from this Perennial, with the difference that this hybrid Iberis is suitable for summer production.

“We need such kind of innovations in our industry,” says Mark Schermer, global head of Syngenta Flowers. “Syngenta Group is an innovation powerhouse, with 6,500 employees working in R&D globally. Combining cutting-edge research, development, and technology with dedicated and experienced flower breeders is what enables us to continually create more beautiful, longer-lasting, increasingly sustainable varieties, such as Iberis Mermaid and many more.”

Marketing Communication Manager Harmke van der Plas is very excited to launch the Syngenta Flower Stars: “It has been a great piece of teamwork between our breeders, product managers, retail team, and sales to select the best from our breeding with that extra story that will attract the consumer and give our customers an extra sales boost. Two weeks ago we went on Tour to some traders with Iberis Mermaid and many more Tours will follow. I invite everyone to come and have a look at our Stars at FlowerTrials this week."

You can visit Syngenta Flowers during FlowerTrials at the Young Plant Production location in De Lier (NL).
