Specialists from the Severomorsky Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor monitored the quarantine phytosanitary condition of the Tsvety Zapolyarya greenhouse in Murmansk (northwestern Russia). The survey was carried out using special yellow glue traps and found a western flower thrip (Frankliniella occidentalis Perg).
The quarantine phytosanitary mode was introduced in August 2019. At that time, a quarantine phytosanitary zone was established on an area of 2.6 hectares. To avoid the spread of the pest, each batch of flowers grown is examined to obtain a quarantine certificate.
As the Western Flower Thrips continue living in greenhouses, it was decided to extend the quarantine mode in 2022.
