Heinje Nursery has launched a new species of raspberry tree. The Rubus ideaus has an unusual growth habit and is a new tree-like shrub. The concept goes by the name: Raspbeary. The small stem with a height of 50 cm retains its size, ensuring a steady, back-friendly harvest, according to the concept's developers.
From May to September, the raspberry tree produces first white flowers and then vitamin-rich fruit. Thanks to the continuously ripening fruit, consumers can enjoy a bountiful harvest all summer long, as the tree growers promise. After picking, the fruit can be eaten directly or processed in various ways.
Consumers can choose whether to plant Raspbeary in beds or in pots. Thanks to its compact height, growers say it is "excellent for growing in a pot on the patio or balcony" and bearing fruit. This means the raspberry tree is also suitable for urban areas.
Growing fruit and vegetables at home are still very much in vogue. Raspbeary fits into this concept and, according to the growers, also convinces with its low-maintenance properties, useful for hobby gardeners.
All that is important is humus-rich soil and a sunny to semi-shaded location. In winter, the raspberry tree hardly needs any special protection, as frost does not affect the Rubus.
The raspberry tree is offered in summer packaging. Raspbeary is available in a printed 6-liter pot.
