Meet Matilda at IFTF 2022, new cut flower from Benary

When you see the look of Matilda Ptilotus exaltatus – everyone first thinks of the Australian feather bush Joey: also bred by Benary.

Now Joey has gotten a sister as a new addition to the family: Matilda – a cut flower cultivar from Benary.

Matilda is unique as a cut flower with its soft purple flower panicles. Its flower stems grow to about 40–70 cm high. Matilda makes a graceful appearance: whether in a classic bouquet or used in unique floral art. Matilda also impresses with a long shelf life in the vase, but is also perfect as a dried cut flower that sets new trends: whether on its own or mixed with different conspecifics.

Matilda is a real novelty to have in a grower’s assortment, adaptable to the different production environments. Matilda convinces with a very good yield per sqm of production, multiple rotations per year in warm climates, and a very good shipability.

Matilda was first launched at the Proflora cut flower trade show in Bogota, Colombia, in 2019. Next, it was launched to the North American Market at the Miami cut flower show in June 2022 and globally at Flower Trials this year.

Matilda can be seen in Vijfhuizen from November 9 – 11 at booth # D.3.25.
