Aviram Krell, Plantec Ecuador:

"Expoflores 2022, one of the best flower shows in the past decade"

"From the onset of the show, it was clear to see that all the participants exhibiting have been waiting for an opportunity to show off their newest innovations, methods, and varieties to their customers. The entire show had a feeling of duality between working and having a party. The flowers were in excellent conditions, and the growers were very proud of their products", says Aviram Krell, one of the exhibitors at Expo Flor Ecuador that took place in Quito earlier this month.

"In terms of buyers and retailers, the show was a way to show the rest of the market chain the optimism they were experiencing, and their optimism was contagious. By the end of the last day, we had seen such positive feedback that we couldn't help but be positive ourselves."

Varieties that caused a stir from the Plantec booth were in all aspects of the color spectrum and included both Standard classical shapes and exotic garden-shaped roses, he says. "White shimmer caused a big stir, with many buyers and growers very excited about the new form of shimmer. Goldfinch, an incredibly productive and hardy yellow rose, gained a big following, Phoenix, a garden-shaped rose with an easy-to-grow plant and long stems, has had an incredibly popular year, and it showed in the expo. A big star of our booth was Fortune, whose people have been steadily growing in quantities. Its high productivity is only one of its many delightful attributes, some of which are the 18-day vase life, usually longer, its short and precise growing cycle, and its velvety red color. All in all, Plantec has had an incredible opportunity to serve the Ecuadorian Rose market for over 30 years, and this year has been one full of turbulence and unity in the face of chaos. Plantec is proud to serve its clients, and we thank everyone who helped make this Expo such a unique and special experience."
