The Dutch company Studio Botanica creates luxury arrangements for florists and garden centers. When Jan Bouman, the company's owner, was predominantly operating in export, he often saw a demand from the market for beautiful, high-quality luxury arrangements. With Studio Botanica, Jan decided to fill this gap four years ago.

Luxury arrangements
Operating in the premium segment often involves a certain level of risk, although the people at Studio Botanica notice that they're on the right path. "Over the past few years, our client base has grown considerably, and our products keep on selling out once they hit the shelves. This simply didn't exist before. We create something that's unique and really adds to the market," says Jan.
"We purchase high-quality flower pots in many colors as well as gorgeous plants so that we can come up with new and fresh ideas. This way, we can create complete arrangements all year round. The element of creativity involved is often underestimated, but you want to keep delivering unique products. We set a high bar for ourselves, but the appreciation is noticeable."
The sale of the arrangements currently takes place through the auction at Floriday and Floraexchange.
Trade Fair Aalsmeer
Recently, Jan Bouman and colleague Hennie of Studio Botanica presented the company at the Trade Fair in Aalsmeer for the first time. In fact, this was the very first trade fair Studio Botanica showed their selection of luxury arrangements.
"I'm quite familiar with this world, but I realized I still didn't know everything. You are able to see that people are genuinely happy with the new selections and arrangements, and you really notice the potential of our business. We made new contacts, and many growers showed interest in collaborating with us. Next year we will definitely go again and go even bigger this year."
