1-800-Flowers.com announces their 2023 flower and plant of the year

1-800-Flowers has announced their 2023 Flower and Plant of the Year, "celebrating love, unity, and new beginnings," per the brand.

"This year, we also saw trends in the floral space such as combinations of flowers with ruffled textures (think roses or carnations) and a looser bouquet style, dried and preserved flowers, bright colored mixed arrangements, and small blooms such as ranunculus, asters, lilac, and lisianthus," said Alfred Palomares, vice president of merchandising at 1-800-Flowers, and resident plant dad.

"We chose the orchid and Calathea Rattlesnake as the 2023 Flower and Plant of the Year to inspire our customers with meaningful expressions as they seek to invigorate their home and also share thoughtful gifts with friends and loved ones," said Alfred.

"The orchid not only symbolizes unity and love but also reflects beauty and luxury with its graceful petals," he adds.

Whether orchids are beautifully gathered in unique, farm-fresh bouquets or grown as elegant flowering plants, these exotic tropical blooms, with their structural presence, will enhance the décor aesthetic of any home and will deliver a smile to anyone who receives it as a gift.
