Keukenhof welcomed 145,000 visitors in four days. On Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday, the spring park was sold out. 80% of visitors came from abroad as usual. Keukenhof and the Bollenstreek are tourist hotspots at Easter. There was a lot of interest from German guests. Keukenhof also welcomed many British, American, and Dutch families. Many camper vans were parked in the Keukenhof car parks during the day.
"The combination of the blooms in the park, the flowering bulb fields in the region, and the beautiful weather ensured that Keukenhof had a good Easter," stated Jeroen Duyster, Keukenhof director. The spread of visitors over the day went well. Visitors buy a ticket online in advance with a fixed arrival time slot. This improved the logistics to and from the park as well as the experience in the flower park. There was a lot of traffic movement in the Bulb Region on Easter Saturday. This also led to delays at Keukenhof.
Large numbers of visitors came to Keukenhof by public transport via Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam RAI, Leiden, and Haarlem.
Keukenhof is open until 14 May.
