Generation Z prefers fuchsia, orange, or lilac roses

Roses were the protagonists in different spaces of Universo Floral during the last Iberflora and Feria Valencia show. So, it's no wonder that they will also be in the 2023 edition, which will be held from October 3 to 5.

Roses monopolize key dates in the florist shop, such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, or Sant Jordi itself, which is celebrated in a special way every April 23 in Catalonia, Spain.

According to Mercabarna-Flor forecasts, this year, six million roses will be marketed on the Diada, mostly red (80%) and from different sources: Colombia (62%), Ecuador (20%), the Netherlands (15%), and Spain (3%).

Rosa Valls, director of Rosa Valls FormaciĆ³, indicates that fuchsia, orange, bright yellow, or lilac roses are the favorites of Generation Z -those born at the end of the 20th century and the first decade of the 2000s- and that each Today, those arranged with green, dry, wooden elements and other recyclable materials are more in demand, in line with the trend of sustainability and environmental respect.
