Carnation harvest started in Isparta, with the goal of 15 million USD in exports this season

The harvest period started with the blooming of the carnations. In Isparta. Cut flowers, grown on a total area of ​​120 hectares, are sent to various countries through companies in Antalya. In the region where 150 million stems are produced, an export of 15 million USD is targeted this season. Carnations, which were planted in November in the greenhouses established in the Cunur and Deregumu villages of the city started to bloom at the beginning of June. During the harvest period of Isparta, which coincides with the end of the season in Antalya, cut flowers grown in 8 greenhouses in Cunur and 7 greenhouses in Deregumu, on a total area of ​​120 hectares.

President of the Isparta Chamber of Agriculture, Mustahattin Can Selcuk, said that the cut flower industry has been going on in Isparta for years. Selcuk said: "Our carnations planted in November have grown and now our harvest period has begun. As soon as the flower season ends in Antalya, we step in with fresh supply from Isparta, thereby ensuring year-round production of carnations in Turkey. Carnations are produced in nearly 30 colors. The flowers cut here are sent to various countries of the world through exporting companies in Antalya."
