"From July 11 intensification inspections Mandevilla destined for United Kingdom"

The United Kingdom has found the tobacco whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) on Mandevilla (Dipladenia) from the Netherlands much more frequently over the past six months. In the first 6 months of 2022, the organism was detected 8 times. This year 21 times while the number of shipments of Mandevilla in 2023 decreased compared to last year. The NVWA (Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority), in consultation with the inspection services, has therefore decided to intensify inspections on Mandevilla species. It started on July 11, 2023. Bemisia tabaci is a Q organism for which a 0 tolerance applies.

NVWA reiterates that it is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that plants and plant products meet the import requirements of the country of destination.
