In 1984, Caroline & Hans van der Poel decided to start their own business. They set up shop in the workshop of the van der Poel Brothers' contracting company in Oud Ade, dedicating three days a week to their own venture and the remaining days to the contracting company. In the evenings, they busied themselves with assembling tedders and cleaning tractors. Caroline took care of the accounting in the evenings, alongside her job at Rabobank. It was a period of hard work, filled with laughter and camaraderie, as anything seemed possible at that time.
It didn't take long, and they outgrew their initial setup. After much perseverance, they inaugurated a new facility on Geestweg in Roelofarendsveen on December 12, 1990. The business expanded rapidly, and soon their first employees joined the team, some of whom have been part of the family for over 25 years. Interns continue to join their workforce and often stay with them permanently.
In the horticultural region of Roelofarendsveen, the company transitioned from solely agriculture to also include horticulture-oriented activities. The cross-fertilization of their experience in repairing and improving robust agricultural machinery and designing horticultural machines has proven to be a successful formula.
