Bells Horticultural acquires of Peter Beales Rose

"A significant milestone for us and an exciting next chapter for Peter Beales Roses"

Bells Horticultural completed the acquisition of Peter Beales Rose on 2 February. The acquisition allows Bells Horticultural to continue the work of Peter Beales Roses and thereby intends to ensure the continued availability of this rose brand.

The plan going forward is for the two businesses to operate independently of one another. It has also been confirmed that the wholesale supply of branded Peter Beales Roses to garden centres will continue through the existing supply partner, Whartons Roses. The deal, which has been several months in the making, marks an exciting new era for Peter Beales Roses, an established brand and 28-time gold medal winner at RHS Chelsea.

Robert Bell, Managing Director at Bells Horticultural says: "This acquisition marks a significant milestone for us but, more importantly, it marks an exciting next chapter for Peter Beales Roses; a brand that has been much loved by rose aficionados across the world for over 50 years. We are committed to preserving the legacy of the brand and its physical entities but also have great aspirations for future growth, including exciting plans to expand the breeding program, and raise the public profile of the brand."

Bells Horticultural assures customers of a smooth transition, with business as usual and no disruption to orders as it takes ownership of the Peter Beales business.

Bells Horticultural is a commercial nursery grower of indoor, outdoor, and perennial plants that are supplied to the UK multiples and produced in a 30-acre glass house production site heated by a 3MW biomass boiler. Bells Horticultural also runs its own garden center and e-commerce sites. The brand Peter Beales Roses has existed since 1968.
