Blissful bloom escape awaits at Ontario’s newest u-pick tulip farm

That's the Berkelbloem Tulip Farm for you, where the Berkel family's Dutch roots have blossomed into an immersive floral extravaganza.

This spring, from April 27 (mother nature dependent) to May 17, they're rolling out the floral carpet, inviting one and all to their U-Pick Tulip adventure. For just $15, you can channel your inner florist, handpicking 10 tulips from a colorful array of 500,000 blooms. Feel like ten isn't enough? Keep going for a mere dollar a stem. Bargain!

Berkelbloem, an extension of Berkel Greenhouses Inc., reflects the family's deep-rooted passion for horticulture, passed down through three generations. With "Bloem" meaning "flower" in Dutch, the farm's name pays homage to its origins and the tradition of growing under glass, a practice that began in the early 1900s in the town of Berkel, South Holland.

Today, Berkelbloem stands as a bridge between the family's past and its venture into the vibrant world of floriculture, offering more than just greenhouse-grown tropical plants—it invites visitors to engage directly with the land through its tulip fields. The farm is a family-friendly environment, offering a picturesque setting perfect for picnics, photography, and simply enjoying a day out in the fresh air.
