AIPH Secretary General Tim Briercliffe receives RHS Veitch Memorial Medal for his service to the industry

On 26 March, AIPH Secretary General Tim Briercliffe was granted the Veitch Memorial Medal for having made 'an outstanding contribution to the advancement of the science and practice of horticulture'.

This prestigious accolade is named after businessman, horticulturist, and former RHS Council Member James Veitch Jr. (1815-1869). It's awarded annually to persons of any nationality who have made an outstanding contribution to the industry.

The award was presented to him by RHS President, Keith Weed CBE, at the RHS People Awards in London.

In expressing his gratitude, Mr. Briercliffe acknowledged the support of the AIPH team and said, "I am truly honored, and I cannot do what I do without their support."

According to the RHS, the Veitch Memorial Medal is held for life, and there is no limit to the number of medals that may be awarded.
