Schreurs Holland B.V., a breeder of gerberas, roses, and Sunshapers, has announced an exclusive partnership with Kwekerij Esmeralda, regarding the exclusive sales of gerbera varieties bred by Kwekerij Esmeralda.
Kwekerij Esmeralda, based in Rijnsburg (the Netherands), produces gerbera flowers. The company has started its own breeding program for mini and large-flowered gerberas since 2013. Kwekerij Esmeralda focuses on breeding varieties with a compact but open crop, high productivity and ease of picking is an important selection benchmark as well.
The company's efforts have resulted in the development of five commercial varieties, which can be admired in Schreurs' show greenhouse in De Kwakel. Of the five varieties, two are already in Schreurs' newest catalog. From September it will be available to everyone.
Kwekerij Esmeralda's assortment is an addition to Schreurs' existing range.
Each country and culture has its own preferences regarding color schemes, flower varieties and use of gerberas. "We are always seeking the best varieties for every market. With the addition of Kwekerij Esmeralda's assortment, we will be even better equipped to meet customer demand," the company states.
