Kyrgyzstan significantly increased its flower imports over the first 11 months of 2024. According to the National Statistics Committee, 29.2 million tons of cut flowers and buds were imported, worth $11.22 million. This is nearly double the amount imported in 2023, which totaled 16.25 million tons valued at $5.83 million.
- Kenya was the largest supplier, exporting 16.67 million flowers to Kyrgyzstan for $4.97 million in 2024, compared to 12.16 million flowers worth $3.5 million in 2023.
Other key suppliers included:
- Ecuador: 10.93 million flowers ($5.52 million), up from 3.4 million flowers ($2.03 million) in 2023.
- Netherlands: 818,479 flowers ($405,000), up from 364,193 flowers ($175,000) in 2023.
- China: 437,848 flowers ($187,000), a sharp rise from 36,230 flowers ($15,000) in 2023.
- Colombia: 168,825 flowers ($77,000), slightly up from 142,645 flowers ($71,000) in 2023.
- Kazakhstan: 90,280 flowers ($30,000), significantly more than 11,196 flowers ($5,000) in 2023.
- Uzbekistan: 47,705 flowers ($24,000), with no recorded imports in 2023.
- Turkey: 40,000 flowers ($8,000), a sharp decline from 126,760 flowers ($25,000) in 2023.
- Belgium: 3,580 flowers ($3,000), with no imports in 2023.
- Italy: 1,870 flowers ($1,000), down from 10,100 flowers ($5,000) in 2023.
