Over the past two days, Coloríginz, together with customers, visited Rosefruits in Serbia, a company that has specialized in growing rosehip branches since 2006. From Serbia, the rosehips are exported to the Netherlands, where everything arrives at Coloríginz in Aalsmeer. The visit provided a great opportunity to experience the production process up close and to see the quality of the branches directly in the fields. According to Cock van der Hoorn, Product Marketer at Coloríginz, it was a successful trip: "Besides enjoying each other's company, it was especially nice to see the rosehip magic in the fields of Serbia."

On the first day, the group visited a nursery near Belgrade; on the second day, they went to a second location, now nearly 30 hectares in size. During both visits, participants were guided through the entire process by grower Eric Stokman and his business partner Branko, from cultivation in the fields to processing of the branches.

Important Bees
The expansive fields were still full of the characteristic branches with bright orange-red berries, where millions of bees play a crucial role in the process. The grower explained that honeybees love the pollen of roses. They use it not only to make honey but also as food for reproduction. Every June, millions of bees swarm to the blooming fields, pollinating the flowers that later grow into rosehips. This is vital for cultivation, making bees the grower's best friends.
Special Branches
"It was very educational to see and hear the explanations, and it also sparked some fun conversations within the group," says Cock. "While some companies look for uniformity in branches, other high-end flower shops are specifically seeking unique branches, each different from the other."

The group included, among others, Jasmijn Bloembinders, Peter van Delft from Thursd, Marcel van Dijk from Oogenlust, and the marketing team from Flowervision England. With the presence of growers, suppliers, and buyers alike, the visit provided a clear view of the origin and quality of the rosehip branches.
In addition to the guided tours, Serbian delicacies and the warm hospitality of the growers contributed to a personal and pleasant atmosphere. The visit gave Coloríginz and their customers a clear understanding of the quality and the process behind the rosehip branches they supply.
