Ornamental plant production in Torbali is growing daily, contributing to the regional economy. As in recent years, more growers have shifted to ornamental plants because of their high profit potential, and the district's products are shipped all over Turkey. The production of ornamental plants, which are primarily concentrated in the Taskesik, Aslanlar, and Ozbey neighborhoods, is regularly inspected by staff from the Torbali District Directorate of Agriculture. Teams carry out disease and pest control on plants grown in greenhouses and on the ground, giving growers technical support.
In addition to some shrubs, bulbous, and tuberous plants, the decorative plants produced include lovely green, flowering, fruit-bearing, woody, and herbaceous species. "Ornamental plants provide both visual richness and a good source of income," said Muhammet Kaynamaz, a grower who has been growing ornamental plants in the area for many years, underscoring the significance of production. He added, "Every day, demand rises. With the assistance of the Directorate of Agriculture, we are working to create superior products in state-of-the-art greenhouses. Our objective is to raise awareness about Torbali both domestically and abroad. The flourishing ornamental plant industry in Torbali is boosting the district's agricultural economy and diversifying the agricultural landscape."
