Antalya continues to lead Turkey in cut flower production

The center of flower production in Turkey is the city of Antalya, located in southwestern Turkey. The city produces cut flowers, potted flowers, and outdoor ornamental plants all year round because of its climate and contemporary greenhouse techniques. Leading Turkey's cut flower industry, Antalya provides a variety of goods to both local and foreign consumers.

A lot of the flowers grown in Antalya are exported. Export numbers rise dramatically, especially on holidays like Mother's Day and Valentine's Day. Antalya exports to 30 countries, and the export volume increases every year. Every year, the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality uses its own flower greenhouse facilities to grow millions of flowers that decorate the city's gardens and parks while saving a substantial amount of money.

In Antalya, carnations, roses, gerberas, tulips, and chrysanthemums are the most commonly grown cut flowers. The city also produces a lot of outdoor ornamental plants and potted flowers. It is said that exports will even rise further if basic issues in the flower industry, like labor availability and land availability, are fixed. Among the difficulties the industry faces are climate change and the depletion of water resources.

By using contemporary technologies, Antalya's flower growers hope to boost their output and provide better-quality goods. The industry has substantial employment potential and makes a substantial economic contribution to Turkey.
