"The new generation of roses"

The Naturosa series, developed by rose breeder Martin Vissers of Viva International, received five awards at international rose competitions in 2025. For Vissers, the recognitions mark more than 20 years of selection and refinement of the Naturosa roses. The Belgian grower Meer Plant is bringing the plants to market.

The natural appearance, high ornamental value and inherent resilience that define the Naturosa series also formed the basis for the awards received in 2025. Green Summer (VISallcover) won 1er Prix Couvre Sol at the SNHF Grand Prix de la Rose. Sirona (VISboprim) earned an Honourable Mention at Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic. Abellio (VISpaniuc) received 2ème Prix in the Concours de Roses de Paysage at Paris Bagatelle in France. Palsy Walsy (VISmired) was awarded the Gold Certificate in the Miniature category in The Hague. Diamantino (VISraroda) took the Silver Certificate in the Shrub Roses category, also in The Hague.

The success of the Naturosa series comes at a time when more garden enthusiasts and green professionals are choosing sustainable, low-maintenance plants. Naturosa roses can be cultivated and maintained without chemicals at the nursery, in private gardens or in public green spaces.

The new generation of roses
Breeder Martin Vissers refers to them as "The New Generation of Roses." These are not the traditional hybrid tea varieties that require specific care. They are strong, naturally growing roses, on their own roots. They form dense, bushy plants with an abundance of small flowers throughout the season. They are robust, require little to no maintenance and withstand weather conditions ranging from Warsaw's winters to Madrid's summers. Their strong disease resistance enables chemical-free, biological cultivation. The series meets the growing demand for easy, sustainable and reliable garden plants.

Naturosa varieties are available through Meer Plant for garden centers, wholesalers and green professionals across Europe. This distribution makes the award-winning roses accessible for gardens and public green spaces through retailers, landscapers, municipalities and green service providers.
