Bloomon's mission as an online florist is straightforward: to create surprising bouquets while placing as little burden on the planet as possible. As a certified B Corp and an industry frontrunner, bloomon has been setting the tone for years. With a bold vision and a transparent way of working, the company shares its sustainability journey in this report, highlighting achievements, challenges and its continued commitment to a better future for people, the planet and the generations that follow.

For the planet
Bloomon is working hard to shrink its ecological footprint. At the moment, 82 percent of the stems it uses are FSI certified, meaning that nearly all growers meet recognised environmental, agricultural and social standards. By shortening the supply chain and shifting more transport from air to sea, the company significantly reduces the CO₂ emissions of certain flower lines. All flowers are wrapped in fully recyclable paper, and the fulfilment centre runs entirely on green energy.
"There is often still the idea that local flowers are better for the environment, but this is not always the case. Last year, we made great strides in sea freight from Colombia and Kenya. This allows us to reduce the CO2 emissions of stems coming from afar by up to 90%. Often, this is even lower than that of flowers from Europe. With the use of sea freight, we can now deliver even more beautiful different flowers," says Sibbe Krol, Head of Sustainability.

For people
At bloomon, sustainability is about caring for both the planet and the people behind every stem. From growers to their own employees, the company works to create a supply chain that is fair and safe for everyone. They do this by partnering with growers who provide good working conditions and by investing in a diverse, inclusive team. As a B Corp, bloomon collaborates with Fairtrade-certified growers in Kenya and pays additional Fairtrade premiums. These premiums support the wellbeing of workers throughout the chain, helping fund projects in education and healthcare.
Closer to home, bloomon also gives back to local communities through partnerships with organisations such as Pink Ribbon and The Pollinators, supporting initiatives that promote health and biodiversity.

For the future
Bloomon's ambition is nothing short of uncompromising. The company is constantly exploring new innovations and setting ambitious targets for the years ahead. One of its main goals is to continue reducing its CO₂ footprint, aiming for a 50 percent cut by 2030 and a 90 percent reduction by 2045. By assigning a specific CO₂ budget to every bouquet, bloomon ensures that each design fits within these climate goals.
The company also remains committed to reducing waste through more accurate forecasting and by relying on its short supply chain, which helps maintain tight control over stem volumes. With a focus on transparency, collaboration and innovation, bloomon is helping shape a flourishing, sustainable future for the global flower sector.
