US (MA): Burlington flower shop offers roses for unwanted gifts

Citizens of Burlington, Massachusetts, may have received something over the holidays from someone who thought it was a perfect gift, but it ended up just taking up space in a closet. Now, it can put it to good use by not only donating it to someone who really needs it, but you also receive a bunch of fresh roses.

During the month of January, 'A Whole Bunch Flower Market' in Burlington, Mass., is offering a bunch of roses in return for an unopened gift.

They will donate that gift to 'Helpis,' a Massachusetts non-profit that connects people in need with people who want to give. "I think people really feel good about it, and they're happy to get this really great bunch of roses," said Florist Shannon Guthrie.

Florist John Belmonte said since it's the dead of winter in New England, he has enough roses to go around. "The roses come here whether I need them or not, and right now it's January, and I do not need them, so I'm glad if you came in and took some," he said.
