UK: "White remains one of the strongest retail colours"

Pantone has announced its Colour of the Year 2026 – Cloud Dancer. A marked shift from 2025's Mocha Mousse, this airy white reflects clarity, calm and renewal. To align with Cloud Dancer, Earley Ornamentals has put together a selection of white-flowering varieties from its extensive young plant range to suit retail demand.

For growers, white continues to be a commercially essential colour, blending well in mixed formats and appealing to both contemporary and traditional garden designs.

Commenting on the plant collection that sits perfectly with Cloud Dancer, Simon Earley, Earley Ornamentals Managing Director, said: "We've highlighted key 2026 seed- and cutting-raised introductions plus proven performers that combine purity of colour with production efficiency and UK-ready resilience.

"White flowering plants offer growers and retailers exceptional versatility. They fit into trending styles such as country cottage, modern minimal, monochrome schemes and pollinator-friendly planting, while providing structure and lightness in mixed containers and baskets."

Seed-raised highlights
A few summer options include Impatiens Xtreme F1 White. Ideal for pack production, it offers early, uniform flowering and a non-stretching, well-branched habit. Its consistent structure ensures clean presentation and strong longevity on the bench.

Together, they offer flexibility across retail formats and a long flowering window from spring into summer.

A hardy, compact bush Fuchsia is Hawkshead. These small, elegant single blooms look especially effective in woodland and cottage-style gardens, where subtle colour works best or for customers seeking hardy, easy-care options.
