LZ Orchidee embarks on a journey to tomorrow

On May 1st, Leo and Trees Zwinkels of LZ Orchidee in De Lier will hand over the reins to Nico and Nick Duijvestijn and Mark van der Voort of Highlands Potplants. They will continue growing cascade cymbidiums.

LZ Orchidee began cultivating trailing Cymbidiums in 2005, in small quantities and exclusively the white Ice Cascade. Over 20 years later, through in-house breeding, the range has grown to over 30 varieties, and the assortment is expected to expand even further in the coming years.

The name LZ Orchidee will remain, just like the assortment, states Leo Zwinkels on LinkedIn. Nick will focus on sales and promotion, while Mark and Nico will continue the cultivation.

Highlands Potplants specializes in the cultivation of distinctive products, with Agapanthus as its main crop. Last year, the grower also took over a crop: Portulaca from Sunfriends.
