Florist-built Shopify app launched

NuFlorist announced the public availability of its florist-specific Shopify app, created to solve the real-world operational and revenue challenges flower shops face when using Shopify's generic e-commerce tools.

"While Shopify has become a popular platform for independent retailers, it was not built for therealities of florist businesses—where local delivery, time sensitivity, urgency pricing, and cardmessaging are fundamental to every order," NuFlorist says.

NuFlorist was built to close that gap. NuFlorist is available with a free option and offers a two-week free trial for florists who want toexperience the full functionality before committing. The app is available directly through the Shopify App Store.

Built by a florist
NuFlorist was created by Danny Sanchez, a multi-location florist and operator who experienced Shopify's limitations firsthand while running his own flower shops.

"Every workaround I tried added complexity, cost, or risk," said Sanchez. "Flat delivery pricing, no card message flow, no real way to charge for urgency. I didn't set out to build software — I set out to fix my own business. Once we implemented NuFlorist internally, we were finally able to properly charge for rush delivery, control delivery zones, andincrease average order value through structured upsells. That's when I knew this wasn't just a fix for us — it was something other florists needed."

That operator-led approach is central to NuFlorist's philosophy: solve real problems that cost florists money every day.

What NuFlorist enables florists to do
NuFlorist adds florist-specific functionality directly into Shopify stores, allowing flower shops to:

  • Set delivery pricing by zip code or delivery zone
  • Charge for same-day and rush delivery with clear cut-off times
  • Collect card messages as part of the checkout experience
  • Tie occasions like birthdays, sympathy, and anniversaries to products
  • Automatically surface relevant add-ons such as vases, chocolates, and balloons
  • Increase average order value without increasing traffic
  • Give customers the information they need before checkout—reducing calls and order errors

Instead of forcing florists to explain delivery rules manually, NuFlorist makes those rules visible and enforceable before checkout.

Designed to work with Shopify, not against it
NuFlorist is intentionally plan-aware. Feature availability is clearly aligned with what Shopify allows on each plan, avoiding overpromising or unsupported workarounds. "Florists are tired of software that sounds great in a demo but breaks in practice," Sanchez added. "We unlock the most Shopify allows for each plan, and we're upfront about what that means. That transparency builds trust."

Why this matters now
"As more florists adopt Shopify, the cost of using generic e-commerce tools in a highly specialized, time-sensitive industry is costing shops revenue on every order. Manual workarounds don't scale, margins are tighter than ever, and customers expect clarity and speed," according to NuFlorist.

NuFlorist reflects a broader shift toward vertical SaaS—software built deeply for one industry instead of shallowly for everyone.
