Netherlands: Highest point achieved at Arcadia

Arcadia and AAB have made a start on the renewing of horticulture in the Westland region, the Netherlands. The 'top' entrepreneur in this region convinced the bank that dismantling of existing glasshouses and replaceming these with new ones has a future. Arcadia is, thanks to this new-build project, busy working on the future.

Last Friday, a start was made on raising the cams at Arcadia by Mayor van Doorlaan in De Lier. The glasshouse thereby reached its highest point.

This newly developed glasshouse for year-round Chrysanthemum cultivation will be fully integrated with all the associated future technology: lifting heating, steam pipes, flower transportation channels, overhead irrigation integrated in the c-profiles with lighting and roof cleaning. Additionally, the glasshouse will benefit from technological developments in the new methods of cultivation such as drawing external air combined with interior air circulation and heating in order to dehumidify with a mix of dry outside air and inside air. The glasshouse will be glazed with diffusing glass with 2-sided AR coating and 2 screen installations will be installed.

AAB has worked for 20 years for Arcadia and is very proud that they are able to facilitate the purchase, build and energy guidance for the van Ruiven family and partners.
