According to FloraHolland, the expensive dollar causes problems for Dutch importers of green plants. Many dutch growers are importing green youngplants from South America to cultivate and to sell through wholesalers like FloraHolland. The 10-20 per cent increase of the dollar and the stable selling prices for the producers are the main reason why Dutch growers are facing with problems.

The members of the product commission of FloraHolland fear for the effects of the developments of the dollar on green plants assortment; it might attenuate the assortment.

However, a positive development can be noticed at the customers side; green plants are becoming increasingly popular according to several researches. Will this offer new oppertunities?
