UK: Scots Nats MPs left red-faced after their masse floral tribute to Scotland

Scotland's new army of nationalist MPs made a dramatic show of their patriotism yesterday - by adorning themselves with a special floral buttonhole for the state opening of Parliament.

But the stunt - in honour of the patriotic poem 'Little White Rose of Scotland' - backfired today after it emerged the flower chosen was actually an ordinary rose grown in Africa and exported around the world.

The SNP this morning attempted to brush off the embarrassing revelation - insisting they 'did not care' where the flowers came from.
