Pakistan: Floriculture sector wants government to revive Common Facility Centre for exporters

The floriculture sector has asked the government to reinvigorate the ailing set up of the Common Facility Centres (CFC) in Sindh and Punjab.

The members of the flower export fraternity asked the Export Development Fund (EDF) to revitalise CFC for the interest of the sector, as Pakistan is almost flooded with roses. In case of increase in the export of flower, the country would get a new market under the World Trade Organisation (WTO), which offers great opportunities for the export of fresh flowers.

The floral industry is growing around 6% annually, while the global trade volume in the first half of 2015 stood at $131.90 billion.
