Experienced grower and technical advisor Andy Hodges has been appointed to ICL’s expanding professional horticulture technical sales team, advising growers in the South of England.
A school based work placement in arboriculture gave Andy his first insight in to horticulture and inspired the start of a thirty-five year career in ornamental horticulture.
On leaving school Andy joined a small bedding plant nursery and retailer and studied part time for his City & Guilds in Horticulture. Having gained wide-ranging practical experience of container nursery stock on several nurseries, he joined Trehane Camellia Nursery in Dorset.
Andy made the move in technical sales in 1996 and has 20 years experience with Roffey Brothers and Scotts advising growers on everything from growing media to precision plant nutrition and plant protection products.
“We are delighted to welcome Andy back to our expanding technical sales team,” says ICL’s sales manager for professional horticulture, Adrian Thirtle-Watts. “Having used ICL products in his former role with Roffey, he has plenty of hands on experience of our Levington Advance Solutions portfolio - encompassing our grow, nurture and protect portfolio of products.”
Andy will be re-joining the BASIS Professional Register at the earliest opportunity in line with the rest of the team. Based on the Hampshire/Dorset border, he is well positioned in his sales area covering Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire, Wiltshire and the Isle of Wight.
