Roses and alstroemeria on the slopes of Mount Kenya

Located on the slopes of Mount Kenya, Batian Flowers produces roses and alstroemeria. They started in 1997 with 2 ha of roses at an altitude of 2450 meter above sea level. Currently they are cultivating and growing their flowers on 35 ha of land.

Environmentally friendly
Batian Flowers tries to care for the environment by:
  • Collecting and storing all rainwater to use during the dry season, becoming self-sufficient.
  • Planting at least 1,000 trees every year,
  • Recycling all plastic,
  • Composting all leftover plant material,
  • Actively supporting local suppliers.
Care for employees and community
Batian Flowers arranges medical funds when needed, training programs, and realistic time schedules for their employees. They contribute to the community by donating time and money to the local hospitals and area schools. Additionally, Batian Flowers supports a few of the orphaned children in their community by paying various school fees and donating to the St. Steven’s Children’s Home.
