Dutch rose growing brothers just in time for Valentine's Day

Dutch rose growers brothers Gerry and Herman Sol are just in time for Valentine's Day. In 2015, they just planted new roses and when a bacteria broke out, the crop needed to be destroyed.

It seemed that they were nearing the end of their company, but they recovered. In an article on NHniews.nl, Herman says: "Fortunately, our financier kept believing in us, so we could continue. We disinfected the entire greenhouse and when no bacteria was present anymore, we planted new rose plants. We decided to plant the Lucky red. It is a unique rose that is only being grown by us.

"It is a great rose with a long vaselife and till now, the variety and the rose is not disappointing us. It is growing well and we can harvest and sell small amounts already", Gerry Sol told the NHniews.nl. "We thought we could harvest the first flowers for Mother's Day, but we are already taking a piece of the pie for Valentine's Day."

"We hope that this Lucky Red variety brings us luck for the coming years."
