NL: Van den Berg RoseS expands with 5 ha
Van den Berg RoseS has bought an adjacent greenhouse, expanding their cultivation acreage with 5 hectares. Their production acreage in the Netherlands will therefore reach a total of 16 hectares.

In total of 8.3 ha has been purchased, but the seller will rent 3.3 ha (tomato nursery Jan van Marrewijk). The reason for the purchase is, in their own words, the wish to maintain their position at the top of the Dutch rose cultivation. Besides, soon a large part of the Avalanche+ plants has to be renewed, and their aim is to continue the availability of Avalanche+ by that time.
Because of changes in the sales mode as well as the increasing customer-specific wishes, there is also a need for more processing space and cold storage. All these changes must take place this fall. The plan is to plant the new rose bushes in the purchased greenhouse before Christmas 2017. The first roses will be harvested here in early March 2018.
