NL: Fiore Anthurium grows 19 colors on 6 hectares

Fiore is an Anthurium grower with two locations in Holland: in Berkel and Honselersdijk. The Anthuriums are grown with love and care on a cultivation surface of 6 hectares. They cultivate several Anthuriums in 19 different colours.

The processing areas at Fiore are equipped with new self-designed packing tables and roller belts. These packing tables are designed in a way that employees can work in an upward and sitting position. The roller belt is used to buffer the buckets of flowers and roll them to the employees. In Berkel, a conveyor belt ensures that the flowers are transported to the processing area. These smart solutions minimise the physical work.

The Anthuriums are mainly packed in the traditional way. Which means that they are all packed individually and using a plastic bottle filled with water to provide flowers with water. After that, the flower is placed in a plastic case to protect them during transport.

The environment is also very important to Fiore. They participate in the MPS environmental cultivation project with the A qualification. Fiore uses a minimum of pesticides because naturally grown enemies of aphids and spider mites do most of the work.
