NL: New branding at 'Chrysanthemum Valley'

In a nod to Silicon Valley in San Francisco, the Dekker Chrysanthemum plant in Hensbroek was renamed Chrysanthemum Valley during the flower trial days on June 11-15. "Innovation is in our genes and we present the latest of the latest in chrysanthemums, including the two-tone paint technique with our single-flowered spray chrysanthemum Kennedy," said director Cees Dekker. In collaboration with trading company G. de Koning from Honselersdijk, the white flowers are transformed into dual-colored novelties in any color combination. The dyeing process is environmentally friendly and doesn't affect the shelf life of the cut flower.

Dekker Selections
In addition to the presentation in Hensbroek of existing and new chrysanthemum varieties, the mix box concept Dekker Selections will also be expanded at the Royal FloraHolland flower auction. From week 24 it is available with special packaging for six collections of different types of flowering chrysanthemums. Spray chrysanthemum have been successfully traded in the Dekker Selections mix box for nine years.

Collaboration
Cees Dekker: "In order to continue to belong to the world top of chrysanthemum breeders, collaborating with other knowledge platforms is essential." Dekker Chrysanten recently joined GenNovation in which knowledge of genetic processes is shared with three other breeders. Dekker also participates in Chrysanthemums in Seed Valley, where companies work together that specialize in plant and seed technology.

Worldwide
Dekker Chrysanten also has branches in Colombia and South Africa and three production locations in Tanzania. They have a total of 1,200 employees and because of the steady growth there are international vacancies. Construction activities are taking place at all foreign locations so that the growing demand can be met. There is also still plenty of room in Hensbroek to expand further.
