Held for the 39th time, the Canadian Greenhouse Conference in the Scotiabank Convention Centre will once again be home to the foremost players in the North American greenhouse industry. Today the bus tour kicks off and tomorrow & Thursday the conference and exhibition itself will take place.
Investments in the greenhouse industry
The Canadian Greenhouse Conference has been the not-to-miss event for the Northern American horticultural industry for decades and this year is expected to be no different. With the greenhouse developments and investments on an ongoing high level both in the traditional crops as in the cannabis market, the region is one of the most important regions in the horticultural world. Over the last couple of weeks we've given you a peak in what exhibitors are expected to reveal and automation is to be an important topic on the trade floor.
Challenges
Challenges like the rising minimum wage, the shortage on labour, a more integrated crop protection program, logistics both internally and externally and of course the ongoing challenge for the most efficient way of using energy, water & light will give many growers reason to visit the Canadian Greenhouse Conference as well.
The extensive speaker program combines sessions on concrete growing itself & plant knowledge with management topics, offering a complete spectrum of what's going on in the greenhouse industry. Together with the extensive networking opportunities during and round the event, organized by the exhibition and its exhibitors, it will be a very green week near Niagara Falls.
Bus tour
For starters today the annual bus tour will take place. The opportunity to see "behind the glass" will take the participants to Rosa Flora, Waldan Gardens, Cosmic Plants, Singh Greenhouses & Greenbelt Microgreens. The tour has been fully booked. For those missing out - we'll keep you posted.
