"Technology undeniably makes the difference for young plant growers"

The technology in the production hall of the professional young plant grower is undeniably making the difference to produce the right young plant. More and more, young plant breeders recognize that everything depends on a uniform product according to the specifications requested by their customers. Also, the demands their customers place on the young plant increase every year, and the need for control information is important.

Flier systems develops and supplies systems for automation and mechanization in the production hall of propagating companies. Ad Kranendonk, Head of Sales and Business Development: "Yes, we are talking about systems. It has to cooperate with each other. That is what it is about. Together with the customer, we identify core processes in the production hall, we find the processes that can improve the service to their customers and produce more efficiently. The interconnection in all these processes and letting it work as one system, is what we at Flier Systems guarantee. We feel responsible."

Flier System intends to supply that which the customer needs, and this could be different from what he is asking, Ad remarks. It seems logical, but it doesn't have to be. This starting point can lead to special situations. Ad: "My colleague was in Australia, and the customer wanted to give us the order for a machine. After thoroughly asking, my colleague found that this machine was not the right solution. He did not take the order, but advised the customer to first improve on a different process. Back at the office, he got compliments. For us, it is really important to supply that which the customer needs, so a customer can take a step forward."

"An example of taking a step forward? One of our Italian customers did not inform his buyers a new soil blocker was used. And what happened? One of them asked what was going on. The pots were qualitatively better. And that is great, that is our goal."

Labor is scarce
In horticulture, labor is a factor which increasingly deserves attention. The shortage of people can be felt worldwide. Many systems of Flier Systems provide labor savings. Efficiency and quality improvement and other reasons for a client to chose a machine (line) of Flier Systems. Is the client able to keep his people, or is he able to even hire better or more people because of the new system?

At Flier Systems, they keep on moving. Ad: "In our developments, we focus on core processes. Each idea is continually being improved, and we cannot do without the input of our customers. It is a continuous process."
