Italian grower Eurosa opens warehouse at Royal FloraHolland

"Fulfilling smaller orders with fresh products", this was the idea of Italian nursery Eurosa when deciding to invest in a warehouse inside the FloraHolland site in Aalsmeer, the Netherlands. The warehouse will open its doors on Monday March 18, will remain open all spring, and indoor plants, cactus, succulent and dipladenia will be available. "It enables us to tap into a new group of customers", says Mimmo Ginevrino, who will take care of the warehouse and will be the contact person for the customers who want to buy from this channel.

The ones behind the project
Together with Export Sales Nadia Simone and Operation Director Nino Centrone, Ginevrino set up this project. Givirino will be present at the warehouse from Monday till Friday and Simone and Centrone will manage the operation out of Italy.

Supplying smaller orders
For years, Eurosa has been supplying the FloraHolland auction and they have become one of the biggest suppliers of dipladenia to the auction. However, they mainly supplied customers with large orders and were not able to supply the clients with smaller orders. "With this warehouse, we can supply also the smaller clients with fresh products every day."

Sustainable plants
Eurosa grows its plants in a 85 ha greenhouse on a site of 217 hectares in Candela (Puglia). They highly value sustainable growth of their plants and use the hot waste water of their neighboring power station to heat their greenhouse during the winter time. It is a environmentally friendly process as it reduces the emission of pollution in the air by more than 70%. At the moment, Eurosa has MPS certification with A qualification.
