GardenGenetics expands availability of Dahlightful dahlias to meet market demand

GardenGenetics (G2) is pleased to announce the relaunch of its Dahlightful Dahlia brand through the GardenChoice group. These compact growers, with gorgeous blooms set off by deep chocolate foliage and exceptional tolerance to most powdery mildew strains, are now widely available as unrooted cuttings and rooted liners.

“Consumers love Dahlightful Dahlias because they can enjoy the gorgeous flowers all summer long. Plants continue to bloom from late spring through fall against a backdrop of colorfast dark leaves, while maintaining their compact, dense growing habit,” says Rick Grazzini, owner of G2. “Retailers, and by extension, growers can take advantage of the rich, jewel-toned flower hues to stock late summer color for repeat shoppers. The relaunch offers more opportunities than ever for all sections of the market to capitalize on the groundbreaking genetics.”

Everblooming Dahlias for Landscape and Container Use
Unlike some dahlias, the Dahlightful series keeps on producing gorgeous flowers from early through late in the season. While these bloomers won’t sit on the bench at retail, should a slow weekend or two pass, plants will continue to produce new flowers to entice customers.

Beautiful in containers, Dahlightful Dahlias are equally show-stopping in the landscape. All five everblooming Dahlightful colors are adapted to growing almost everywhere in the US and Canada. They’re upright with tidy compact habits, growing 20-28" tall.

“Eason Horticultural Resources and the rest of the broker networks are excited about being able to sell Dahlightful dahlias from both URCs and liners to make these fantastic plants available to even more gardeners,” says Jim Eason of Eason Horticultural Resources.

Dahlightful Dahlias are available for 2019/2020 orders in these 5 colors:
- Georgia Peach, with warm apricot semi-double flowers
- Lively Lavender, with semi-double lavender blossoms
- Crushed Crimson, with dark burgundy-crimson semi-double flowers
- Sultry Scarlet, with sunset red, semi-double blooms
- Tupelo Honey, with bright yellow, semi-double flowers

In the pipeline for 2020/2021: additional flower colors and new genetics for expanded grow and sell opportunities.
