Dümmen Orange teams up with Bremkens Orchids

Since Dümmen Orange acquired Taiwanese orchid breeder SOGO in 2017, the breeding and global sales of phalaenopsis has steadily developed. Bremkens Orchids is one of the largest young plant producers in Europe. It is a family-owned company and currently managed by Christian Bremkens in close collaboration with his brother Peter and their father Matthias.

The company was founded in 1955 by Matthias’s father. Their young plants are being raised in a 3 ha greenhouse in Geldern-Walbeck, Germany. With state of the art machines, such as a Flier sorting machine, Bremkens supplies young plants to growers in Europe, and with this agreement the company will be the preferred phalaenopsis rooting station for Dümmen Orange in Europe.

The partnership also includes the teaming up of the sales teams of both companies. Edwin van den Nieuwendijk (Sales Manager at Bremkens Orchids) and Christian Bremkens will combine with the Dümmen Orange Sales Team in order to bring the products forward in Europe. Both companies will also investigate possible deeper association in joint promotions, testing facilities and improved services for growers.

Maurice van Leeuwen, IPT Leader Tropicals with Dümmen Orange is proud of this new collaboration: “Bremkens Orchids is known as one of the best rooting stations of phalaenopsis worldwide. In this way, Dümmen Orange is assured of supplying top quality and full rooting flexibility to its customers, the growers.”

Christian Bremkens, General Manager with Bremkens, regards this opportunity as a strategic next step, “Dümmen Orange fits Bremkens’ mission perfectly to provide floricultural solutions by investing in the latest innovative breeding technologies through a strong global sales network.”
