Growing containers for 2020’s classic blue trend

A new decade comes with a new color that instills calm, confidence and trust. The 2020 Pantone color of the year is Classic Blue (PANTONE 19-4052), an enduring hue that, according to Pantone, highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as they cross the threshold into a new era.

Pantone is on board with Classic Blue. Dependability, endurance and trust are traits that A.M.A. shares with this year’s deep blue hue.

“Classic Blue is a complimentary backdrop for a wide range of floral trends, from jewel-toned blooms to cool-colored succulents and shade loving plants,” says Janan Alles, A.M.A.’s growing container expert. “As the horticulture market mirrors homeware trends, we’re also seeing an increasing interest in soft neutral tones, so this rich, deep blue is a perfect accent color.

“Speaking personally,” she continues, “I just really love the color blue. Sailing on Lake Erie is my hobby, so anything that invokes the water is good with me!”

A.M.A. offers a wide assortment of growing and decorative containers for commercial growers, garden centers, municipalities and institutions. Janan has curated a list of growing containers that can help you get on board with the Classic Blue trend.
