15th International Flora Expo and Landscape & Gardening Expo 2020 kicked off

#Stopartificialflower #savefarmer campaign launched in India

Hyderabad, a role model for green city concepts is flooding … Not with water but with plenty of flowers, greens and seeds apart from the latest modern technologies to grow ornamental horticulture items. So it's not surprising that HITEX exhibition centre is brimming with green professionals, flower growers, horticulturists, floral designers and environmentalists.

Commercial flower growers, nursery-plant growers, high-tech horticulture farm owners and progressive farmers are all gathered to participate in this exposition for commercial horticulture. The 3-day expo, inaugurated by senior professionals of the greenhouse industry, will end on 1st March. It's the 15th edition of International Flora Expo and 14th International Landscape & Gardening Expo. The twin expos with concurrent participation of Agrex India aim to put modern technology directly at the door steps of progressive farmers of South India. The theme of the expo is “Go for Fresh, Ban Artificial and Plastic Flowers”. “It has been seen that a large amount of artificial flowers are being imported from China which is strongly harming the demand and production of fresh flowers by bulk consumers in India,” said S Jafar Naqvi, President iFlora.

He added, “As per the trade sources almost 40% of cut flower consumption has been down due to plastic and artificial flowers and a campaign has been launched to save farmers in terms of new varieties introduction by major planting material suppliers, greenhouse manufacturers and allied interests."

A meeting has been planned in which the organizers are inviting all related professionals to launch a common working group and to interact with the government to urgently address this crucial problem faced by floriculture industry at large.

The expo comprises products and services from over 20 nations. Planting material for plants, flowers, fruits & vegetables from Holland, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, New Zealand, Israel, Portugal and many other countries is displayed by leading plant material and greenhouse industry suppliers.
