A little different this week as I come to you from my back patio here in Carpentersville, Illinois. If you joined me for the Day 4 Echinacea videos for Darwin Digital Days (recorded week 24) you may have seen these heavily budded but with no color. My Echinacea Artisan containers were in full bloom at the time (greenhouse forced) and are about finished now after a 10- to 11-week show.

Here are my Echinacea Sombrero containers now in their natural flowering window. It is impossible for me to choose a favorite.
Baja Burgundy
I see why it was the 2019 All-America Selections winner! Seems to be just a little later to flower than the others.
Adobe Orange
Heavy flowering and all the flowers on there are the same color. The oldest have not faded a bit.
Rosada
WOW! What a color. Glad we filled that gap.
Fiesta Orange
This is a party in the pot! These open up such a deep orange. And I love the mix with semi-double and single flowers. Fiesta seems to be just a little more compact than some of the others.
Lemon Yellow Improved
This was the first to show color and I love how the first flowers have faded to the light yellow and then to cream without browning.
Sombrero Poco Yellow
Love this in a bowl on the picnic table. It won’t get much taller than this. The strong yellow on this selection does not fade. Look for more colors to come in this NEW compact series of Echinacea.
I love my Sombreros and I know we will be enjoying them until frost. Everyone should be enjoying Sombreros!
