Takii, bloomon and the Van Gogh Museum are partnering to present the Flowergram Sunflower edition: an original arrangement of dried flowers inspired by Sunflowers (1889) – one of the most iconic and beloved of Vincent van Gogh’s paintings. Together, Takii, bloomon and the Van Gogh Museum are literally and figuratively placing the story behind Van Gogh’s sunflower masterpiece on a pedestal.
Vincent van Gogh and sunflowers
Like many of his contemporaries, Vincent van Gogh delighted in painting flowers. Yet he was one of the few to cast sunflowers as the protagonists in several of his floral compositions. Compared to traditional, darker flower still lifes, his Sunflowers are explosions of colour. Also unusual is that he depicted not only flowers in full bloom, but also withered flowers, which he found beautiful in the same way that a weathered face may be beautiful. For Vincent, sunflowers were also especially meaningful as symbols of inspiration, friendship and gratitude.
Flowergram Sunflower edition
The Flowergram Sunflower edition is a carefully composed selection of dried flowers inspired by the works of Vincent van Gogh. With 12 stems all together, the design includes wheat grass, cornflowers, nigella seed heads and of course sunflowers, all of a high quality and dried exclusively for bloomon. Even outside sunflower season, Vincent’s favourite sunflowers invariably steal the show. The accompanying wooden stand has space for nine dried flowers and lets you tap your own creativity to create a variety of compositions. The fascinating yellow hues of the sunflower are also echoed in the stylish packaging and flower card. And because the Flowergram is made to fit through the letterbox, it can be delivered at any time – whether to your home to brighten up your interior or as a gift or thank-you to someone else.

Sunflower season extends
For the Flowergram Sunflower edition, the ‘Sunrich – Van Gogh’s Favorite’ sunflowers have been selected from breeder Takii, partner of the Van Gogh Museum and initiator of this unique collaboration. Harm Custers, Head of Marketing at Takii Europe, is proud of the result: “We are constantly looking for ways to keep the sunflower ‘top of mind’ with the consumer, we do that for the growers and our sector. The sunflower season normally ends now. ‘Sunrich’ sunflowers are extremely suitable for processing as dried flowers. With the special collaboration, which has resulted in the Flowergram Sunflower edition, we are extending the season in a way, responding to the current dried flower trend and placing the sunflower on a pedestal in an original way.”
