Announcing open call to tender for marketing activities

Stars for Europe is awarded new funding for its "Stars Unite Europe" campaign

For 20 years the Stars for Europe initiative has been supporting poinsettia sales across Europe through broad product promotion and industry support. In autumn 2020 it was awarded a new round of EU funding after recently applying under the banner of its EU campaign “Stars Unite Europe”.

Now the initiative announces an open call to tender, for agencies to deliver the new three-year EU program in seven campaign countries: Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Spain, as well as some international activities covering all markets.

Stars for Europe was founded by a collective of European poinsettia breeders: Beekenkamp Plants, Dümmen Orange, Selecta one and Syngenta Flowers. The campaign aims to promote and secure long-term poinsettia sales in Europe, and it has been receiving financial support from the EU since 2011.

Both supporting green trade and targeting end-consumers, the campaign comprises promotional activities such as public relations, media collaborations, digital and social media marketing, events,
sales and marketing support for retail, quality assurance tools, point of sale materials and more.

Any interested agencies can apply to tender by first submitting the pre-check application form below:
www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/starsuniteeurope-precheck-application

  • The pre-check application deadline is 3 November 2020, 11pm CET.
  • Shortlisted agencies will receive a full briefing and templates to submit a full tender in November 2020.
  • The final selected agencies will be informed in late December 2020 / early January 2021.
  • The campaign will start on 1 June 2021, but some activities will need early preparation.
